How do I register an event?

I created and own a fashion show in the UK and because of it's huge success me and my co-creators want to copyright/register the NAME so no-one else can. The only thing is I don't know the difference between all the different copyrights and when I type into google I am overwhelmed with results. Help... Where do I start?
